Optima Cardiopaths – Innovative tools for optimizing clinical management and endovascular therapy of cardiovascular diseases

The project Optima Cardiopaths, financed with funds PON Rec 2007-2013, It has foreseen the conception and realization of a profound innovation of clinical processes, by defining clinical pathways useful to give the correct weight to the competing test results to the achievement of clinical findings.

Optima Cardiopaths has as its ultimate goal the development of new therapeutic possibilities of health care to patients with cardiovascular disease, through tools that are sustainable (low price and easy to use) and ensuring at the same time a superior safety profile to currently available devices.

Main results:

  • New multimodal system for cardiovascular risk stratification, for addressing towards diagnostic and therapeutic privileged standard routes and for clinical decision-making process
  • New automatic system for the quantitative assessment of functional status of the circle through the ulnar artery (SISMOVA-AU)
  • New wearable monitoring system multi intracranial vascular flow (SISMOVAEC)
  • New ultrafast laser ablation system endovascular (EndoVascular Ultrafast Laser Ablation, Open the)
  • New robotic system driving to vascular procedures
  • Generating a new progressive training process of Interventional Cardiology operators
  • Innovation of clinical management processes through the introduction of an integrated multimodal and a clinical management model focused on case management
